Canopy Care

Flying into the sun near the end of the day you quickly determine the quality of your canopy.

A well polished canopy could make the difference seeing another glider or bird circling. It might be the difference seeing the other traffic and avoiding a mid-air. Someone walking out on the runway might be completely invisible.

It is a good idea during your winter maintenance to spend some time removing the fine scratches giving you the best chances to find that first thermal.

I prefer to be solely responsible for any unwiped or dirty spots on the canopy I have to stare at for the next 5 hours. So I prefer maintaining the canopy myself.

Aircraft canopies need regular maintenance which includes cleaning, polish and scratch removal.  LP 210 is the best at keeping your canopy optically clear.
