We all like a light to moderate wind day because it’s beneficial for the generation of thermals and it’s relatively predictable. It’s been a few weeks since our friend Shmulik Dimentstein died in a tragic crash of his HpH Shark just as he was about to land at his home airport Rifle in Garfield County, Colorado.
As I’ve written before, soaring is objectively dangerous. Per activity hour, the risk of dying is about 40x greater than when driving a car.

Our emotional state is largely dependent on our assessment of how we’re feeling for the day. Some days we can wake up, feel super good and everything seems just goes to plan. Sadly there are other days when we wake up, fight through the day, and by the end of it, we figured it was probably better to just stay in bed, we just had a bad day.
