General Description
IMI One Man Rigging System (OMRS) - was successfully tested at the beginning of 2008. Hundreds and hundreds of OMRS's have been delivered to customers all over the world for many different types of gliders. The OMRS is highly rated for its simple yet light design. it is easy to use and has small transport dimensions. IMI offers several different combinations of OMR's with six different wing holder sizes and three different body sizes to accommodate all different types of gliders, including some microlight and historical gliders.
Wing Holder: Glass reinforced plastics with red gel coat, covered with 10mm black adhesive Neoprene foam. 4 main bolt locations for different adjustments of the center of gravity position. Clever universal shape both for thick and thin airfoils or not universal flat profile shape for the most modern types of gliders. Removable securing arm adjustable in two axes with spring knobs.
Body: Anodized aluminum profiles, telescopic design, inbuilt gas spring for fast, easy, and step-less height adjustment, 300mm run (360mm double seater, 240mm microlight version).
Axle and Wheels: removable axle, sliding to sides for 8cm each side (15cm double seater version), with blocking screw. Tube tire wheels.
Finish: Fiberglass parts polyester gel coat, steel parts galvanized, aluminum parts anodized - no black hands, top finish.
Dimensions: very easily foldable for transport in trailer, single seat folded is only 85x50x18cm (33.5"X19.69"X7.09"), weight approximately 14kg. (30.86 pounds). The double seat version folder is only 95x50x20cm (37.4"X19.69"X7.87"), 16kg, (35.27 pounds).
Use: Height adjustable - single seat 70cm (27.5") to 100cm (39.37") - double seat 80cm (31.5") to 115cm (45.27") - Microlight (special order item) 60cm (23.62") - 94cm (37"). Step-less adjustable, enough for 99% of modern gliders, and for uneven surfaces. Wing chord length 68cm (26.77") - 86cm (33.85") (82cm (32.28") -105cm (41.33"), relative thickness 12-19%, useful for gliders from Libelle up to ASW-22 or common sport two-seaters (Janus, DuoDiscus, DG-1000). Use on grass is no problem.
IMI OMRS is a manual rigging system. IMI also offers a Power-Rigger which is a remote-controlled, battery-powered rigging system.
