General Description
SOTECC Beacon Red and White - Compact. Extremely bright. Energy efficient. Conventional xenon flash tubes consume an average of approximately 2700 mA. In contrast, the VAL LED Beacon red-white requires only 350 mA on average and is significantly brighter. Its light output is comparable to, and even higher than, that of the SOTECC strobe for gliders. As with all our VAL products, such as canopy flashers, strobe lights, and ReFit LEDs, the MiniBeacon 10 also utilizes highly efficient and very bright high-power Cree LEDs. Thanks to modern LED technology, the red-white beacon is considerably more compact and lighter than conventional xenon flash systems. It measures 80 mm in diameter and 26.4 mm in height, weighing only 120 g. This visual awareness light illuminates red in the direction of flight and white in the opposite direction , thus ensuring optimal visibility in air traffic.
What is the difference to the MiniBeacon?
The MiniBeacon is designed for all types of tail fins, but especially for narrow ones. For aircraft like the SF25, only the MiniBeacon is suitable. For aircraft like the Super Dimona, however, the red and white Beacon is ideal. It offers:

Customizable and Easy to Set Up:
The red and white beacon can be easily set up and monitored via smartphone, without any additional app. Like our other products, this visual awareness light also has an integrated Wi-Fi chip and can be individually configured with just a few clicks. Among other things, the flash frequency can be adjusted to personal requirements. Additionally, the operating status and temperature can be checked directly via your smartphone at any time.
Robust and safe
The red and white beacon is designed for continuous use in flight operations. It does not interfere with radio communications, and its housing, made of aluminum and plexiglass, offers protection comparable to IP67. This makes the light dustproof and waterproof. The permissible operating temperature range is from -20 °C to +85 °C. Integrated temperature monitoring provides additional safety and can be quickly and easily viewed via smartphone.
Assembly and approval
The unit is mounted using four M4 socket head cap screws. The included waterproof connector is protected by a 3 to 5 amp fuse. The mounting pattern is compatible with the classic xenon beacon. A manual with detailed instructions for type approval is included.

Which Beacon is Right for Me?
The choice of the right beacon depends largely on the design of the tail assembly and the specific aircraft type. Basically, two variants are available: the Red and White Beacon and the MiniBeacon.
