Sotecc Strobe
General Description
SOTECC Strobe - is the next level anti-collision light for gliders. With its 16 powerful CREE LEDs, it's a really helpful tool for gliding. It can be integrated with our Canopy Flash ConnectBOX system, which makes the automatic mode possible.
The SOTECC Strobe fits on nearly every glider, on the upper or bottom side of the fuselage. Only 15 mm height means minimal aerodynamic drag and maximal safety effort. The installation process is based on EASA regulations and is very straightforward. Our documentation contains all the relevant information about it.
With 16 powerful CREE LEDs, you will get seen. Even in daylight conditions. We have tested it in several conditions on the most populated gliding spots around the world and the results are astonishing. Modern technology makes it possible to combine visibility and power consumption, even for pure gliders with standard battery equipment.
Sotecc Strobe is a special order item. Please allow approximately 4 weeks for delivery.

I would like to install the SOTECC Strobe in my glider, but I'm concerned abuot the power consumption?
Due to the newly developed, intelligent control unit and the built-in modern LED technology, the power consumption cannot be compared with anti-collision lights that are known from motorized aircraft.
I'm not very tech savvy. Is it difficult to install the SOTECC strobe?
Thanks to the included, detailed installation instructions with many pictures, installation is not complicated. If you have any questions about the installation, we will of course be happy to help.
What tools are required for installation?
You can find a detailed list in the installation instructions.
Are there any colors other than red?
Yes, the LEDs are still available in white. However, it should be noted that the color red means danger and is quickly perceived by the human eye. It is also a contrast to the mostly white gliders. Our flight tests quickly showed that we will equip the SOTECC strobe with red CREE® LEDs as standard.
Plug and Play
The SOTECC strobe comes with ready-made plugs and the right cable lengths, as well as all connections. The installation in the glider can be attached to the fuselage using screws or the extremely strong 3M adhesive tape laser-cut by SOTECC.
40 Hours Operating Time With One Battery - The question of power consumption often arises with electronic devices in gliders. Until recently, ACL systems were reserved for engine-powered aircraft because of their ability to generate electricity through alternators. Typically, light bulbs were used, which could only be operated with a battery for a very short time, if at all. The development of LEDs (light-emitting diodes) enables the use of battery-powered anti-collision lights, even on very long flights. Our example shows the operating time of our strobe connected to the standard 10 Ah glider battery.
* Without warnings and other current consumers connected
NOTE: The SOTECC strobe comes standard with flying leads. Depending on the installation location and aircraft type, the cable length must be adjusted. The cable is supplied without connectors.
