Glasflugel 206 Hornet

This 1979 Glasflugel Hornet-C (Carbon Hornet) standard / club-class sailplane is a delight to fly and has amazingly effective trailing-edge dive brakes. For safety and rigging simplicity, it utilizes AUTOMATIC wing & tail hookups! The winglets are factory-produced by Streifeneder, and the glider can be flown with either the standard tips or the winglet tips. This Hornet C has 1140 hrs, the gelcoat was replaced in May 2000 by Eastern Sailplane. The tow hook & seat belts were replaced in 2021. Instrumentation includes: glare shield mounted compass, mechanical Winter ASI and Winter vario, United Instruments altimeter, LXNav S-100 electronic vario (2022), and Becker 6201 radio (2022). Included is a canopy cap, dual 14Ah LifePO batteries, Udo Rumpf Wing Rigger, IMI wing stands (2 each), tail dolly, folding tow out bar, wing wheel, and a complete outdoor cover of unknown manufacture. The 1983 Komet trailer has just had new lift struts installed. The frame is galvanized and is very clean, while the trailer exterior suffers cosmetically. The surge brake is non-functional, yet the parking brake works well. The Hornet C had its last annual inspection in February 2024. Separately for sale is a Strong 303 Parachute.
