Slingsby T.31 In Tucson, AZ. This has to be one of the most social planes, everyone wants to fly with you. A genuine open cockpit ex-RAF T.31 glider. It is an absolute pleasure to fly. a unique experience. It spent its first 30 years with the Royal Air Force flying at RAF Swanton Morley, teaching young air cadets. Sold off when the RAF changed their gliders to Grobs. It was bought by a private owner then shipped to the US. Here it had a complete fabric-off restoration (see photo during restoration.)
It has always been hangared or under a shade hangar in full wing and body covers. Absolutely authentic, the paint scheme, instruments, genuine down to the military labels on all parts. British through and through. In incredible condition, it is an absolute beauty.
