One of the last of the great wooden gliders. Wortmann airfoil, 15 meter span, large & comfortable cockpit with fiberglass seatpan, side-hinged canopy, top-and-bottom surface airbrakes, beautiful stall characteristics, and very good performance due to wing loading and high aspect ratio. This bird flies a lot like the early fiberglass Standard Class gliders – and so the Sie-3 catches the precise moment in glider development when fiberglass construction overtook wood.
This is the only Siebert Sie-3 in the Americas. Beautifully overhauled in the Netherlands in the late 1990’s. Title is clear; no liens or encumbrances. The enclosed metal trailer is recently painted, newly re-wired with LED running and brake lights, foam insulated, and very dry.
