N91897 1956 SGS 1-23F TT 1720 hrs. On July 22, 1956, N91897, the only SGS 1-23F, was test flown by Paul Schweitzer in Elmira, NY. Nine days later he completed his first flight of 2.8 hrs. in the Nationals which were held that year in Grand Prairie, Texas. On 8/4/56 he flew 320 miles in just over 6 hours, just one of 6 flights lasting 5 hrs. or more. In October of 1968 it was flown by owner Theodore Pfeiffer to an altitude of 20,000 ft in N. Conway, NH. SGS 1-23 aircraft are a delight to fly and simple to maintain. All the logbooks are with the aircraft. There were a couple of off airport landings in ’57 and ’69 with repairs made by SGS. A benefit to ownership is K&L soaring can supply parts and make repairs I am also co-owner of a 1958 SGS 1-23G restored to new condition by K&L Soaring. My F model is now available, with a trailer, for a new owner. The firm price is $12,500
