Schempp-Hirth Discus a

This glider has been an excellent companion on countless cross country flights over the last 5 years. During that time, it has allowed me to win my first regional contest, achieve all my badge requirements, complete 5 flights over 1000 km (longest 1180 km), and flown with me from some of the most spectacular soaring sites in the US. During this time I have worked out all the kinks with this glider and trailer combination so that it is truly ready to fly on your first day of ownership. The Discus A is an excellent glider for both new and experienced pilots. It has unbeatable handling qualities, is easy to fly, automatic control hookups, and is competitive in 3 national racing classes (Club, Standard, and Sports Class). It has the ability to carry up to 48 gallons in its integrated wing tanks (top fill) which greatly increase its performance in strong conditions. This Discus had its fuselage and rudder completely refinished in Polyurethane in 2019, wings reprofiled, and the elevator refinished in 2023. It includes 2 different sets of winglets, as well as the factory straight tips. The trailer is a Cobra with a new Alko Axle and tires installed in 2020. It is being sold with: Softie Backpack Parachute, Powerflarm Fusion with bluetooth and wifi connectivity, Trig Transponder with ADS-B out, Mountain High EDS Oxygen System and 23 cuft JD bottle, Becker Radio, Oudie 2 flight computer, Winter 57mm Airspeed and Altimeter, Your choice of a Cambridge 302/303 or the currently installed Airglide S Butterfly Variometer (for an additional price).
