Sage SV Variometer + Schuemann Total Energy System, 80mm

Sage SV variometer plus Sage/Schuemann Total Energy System (also known as a Schuemann Box). Working when removed. The Sage SV is a high-end mechanical variometer. The Sage SV can be used with a standard .45L capacity bottle and a static or TE probe (if you don't want to use the Sage/Schuemann Total Energy System). The Sage/Schuemann Total Energy System substitutes for the capacity bottle. It connects to the Pitot and Static lines. It compensates as a TE probe would, but also acts a netto in cruise by subtracting out a glider's sink, thus showing the lift/sink of the air the glider's flying through. The glider's polar is modeled pneumatically by restrictors and the length of tube on the outside of the unit. Wil Schuemann is credited with doing fundamental work on total energy variometers.
