Very low time airframe - 1178 hours. Former U.S. a/c. Stored since 1999 - returned to flight in 2016.
Have thoroughly enjoyed flying the Cirrus. - - - Stable. No bad habits. - - - The Open Cirrus was recommended by Piggott in his book Gliding Safety for low-time pilots buying their first sailplane. Schempp-Hirth claimed 44:1 and less than 100 fpm at min sink. Your mileage may vary. ; )
Reality - Climbs well. Fun to realize that I can make the home field when it is still out of sight! - - - Basic, well-laid out, attractive panel. NOTE: Radio NOT included. Winter vario NOT included. Airpath compass mounted on glare shield.
Original German trailer is functional but needs improvement.
Fuselage was refinished just before being stored. Wings need refinishing.
Includes canvas wing covers and lined canopy cover.
Health issue and physical limitations make it difficult for me to rig.
- - - Beautiful sailplane. A joy to fly. I will miss it.
