Scheibe SF-27A Glider. It’s a smooth flying 15m ship with a 32:1 glide ratio located in Jacksonville, Florida. It has typical Scheibe steel-tube structure (with a fiberglass nose section), all-flying tail, Schempp-Hirth type dive brakes and semi-reclining seating. The wing ribs are spaced only 4 inches apart and heavy plywood skins cover 85% of the surface in order to help maintain the laminar profile. Aircraft is in immaculate condition. Rudder, stabilators, and fuselage recovered March 2012. Wings recovered November, 2021. All logs and papers maintained since original manufacture. Manufactured in Germany, 1967.
