AC-5M is the most economical self launcher out there and most fun to fly.

This is the best AC-5M out there. It is fully loaded and ready for competition! Great handicap factor in Sports class, especially in strong conditions due to higher wing loading. Winner of Region 8 Sports Class and Canadian Nationals Club Class.

Only 27 hours on the engine, less than 400 on the airframe. The engine is in great shape, starts easily on the ground and in flight. New fuel hoses and shutoff valve. Rebuilt Carburetor. No fuel leaks.

Many upgrades:

• Totally sealed cockpit (the factory Russia is very drafty)
• Upgraded ventilation port with fine control (way better than the original Russian sliding plate design).
• Two additional 10 AH LiFePo batteries in the engine compartment for powering the advanced avionics. The main 16 AH SLA battery is dedicated to the engine starter, but can also be used for avionics, if needed.
• Totally new, fully loaded instrument panel, the only thing missing is transponder, but there is room for it. You will feel like you’re flying a JS3.
• LX9000 with AHRS and stick remote.
• PowerFlarm (with dual FLARM antennas + ADSB antenna), connected to LX9000 and FlarmView as a backup.
• ESA triple probe in the nose for the best compensated and smoothest Vario of any glider I have ever flown. It works in full TE mode while the engine is running!
• There is also a standard 6 mm ESA TE probe in the tail, but the signal from that one is much noisier. You can fly with both and switch between different TE, Pitot and Static ports in flight using pneumatic toggle switches on the instrument panel.
