This glider has cracks in the wing root ribs and needs to have them replaced to restore it to an airworthy condition. It seems shops are charging in the neighborhood of $7000 for the repair. The ship as a whole could use some TLC. It hasn't flown in a few years and has trailer rash and chipping paint on the PPG-painted fuselage. The last W&B listed a max pilot weight of 183 lbs. That was with a SLA battery. It now has lithium ion battery, FWIW. The removable seat back vanished but I never used it. At 6'1" with a parachute, I just fit.
The aluminum trailer is of an unknown make and, I assume, came with the glider when first delivered. Its a semi-clamshell with a crank in the cargo area that tilts the entire enclosure, negating the need for ramps. It tows straight as an arrow behind my Explorer while going 80 mph. Ugly but functional.
Obviously, this is an old glider but it rigs easily and has no bad habits in the air and is fine for low time pilots. It would make for a great project for a club or someone with the skills and time to bring it back.
