ASA Aviation High School Student Notebook - This interactive Aviation High School Student Notebook and Aviation High School Facilitator Guide address a growing need for future-ready competencies in aviation and provides an exciting and engaging context to learn Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Students will be introduced to the innovative field of aviation, study the fundamentals of flight, and explore the various career opportunities available within the aviation industry.

Through the engaging activities in Aviation High School, students will develop skills to pursue a career in the aviation and aerospace industry or gain knowledge applicable to numerous other STEM fields.

  1.  Use the link https://asa2fly.com/redeem/.

    If you already have an ASA account, skip to step 2.
    If you do not have an account, the ASA website will prompt you to create an account, then will redirect you back to the code redemption screen. If you are not redirected, click the “Redeem” button on the top right of the screen.

  2. Enter the code you were given in the space provided and continue through the checkout process. This is necessary to attach the eBook to your account and it incurs no additional costs.
  3. Once the eBook has been purchased into your ASA account, you will need to access it through the ASA Library. Here is how to set that up:

    - Use the link library.asa2fly.com and click “Recover/Setup Password”.
    - Using your ASA account email, follow the instructions to create your ASA Library password (you are encouraged to use the same password as your main ASA account). Even though you may see language in the recovery email stating “reset password” you are actually creating a new password for the ASA Library section of ASA’s website.

  4. After your ASA Library login is operational, you can access your eBooks through any device via the ASA Library app (downloaded from any device app store) or through library.asa2fly.com.

About the Authors

Brittany D. Hagen, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Education and CAEP accreditation coordinator at Mayville State University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education at Mayville State University, majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Educational Technology. 

Sarah K. Anderson is a Senior Lecturer in Education at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. Sarah has a PhD in Teacher Education with a cognate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Dakota, USA, in addition to a master’s degree in special education and an undergraduate degree in teaching secondary level social sciences.

Leslie Martin is an Associate Professor for the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics Commercial Aviation and a Master of Science in Education.

Paul Snyder is an Assistant Professor for the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences at the University of North Dakota. Professor Snyder continues to be active in flight operations as an FAA Designated Pilot and Instructor Examiner, Insitu Certified ScanEagle UAS pilot, and a UND Chief Flight Instructor.
