Overview: Super performer in either 18m or 21m configuration and in excellent condition. As some owners say, in 21 m configuration, loaded with water ballast, it “follows the curvature of the earth.” Well, maybe not quite, but it does have long legs! Handling is fantastic. It was factory prepared for jet sustainer install. I was going down that path when I decided to go with a JS3 RES. Glider always stored indoors or in hangar. Trailer stored indoors for all but 4 months of its life.
The panel was 2012 vintage. Everything upgraded to modern standards, such as installing a 5th generation LX9000 (with AHRS, HAWK) and V8 vario.
Likewise, put in a new radio and controller, plus added FLARM Fusion with A and B antennas. This pairs with the Trig TT22 XPNDR to which a TRIG TN72 ADS-B out unit was added along with an air speed switch.
Finished in PU paint, and looks ageless. Small hangar rash nicks. Has been waxed annually and kept in trailer in hangar when not in use.
Glider and Trailer both rated 4-star by Fidel R., Air One Air Composites, who has maintained this glider annually since it flew in the 2012 Worlds at Uvalde.
Another plus: there are 2 Oxy bottles, an AL-248 behind pilot seat and a KF-077, 77 cu ft/2,180 liter MH bottle in fuselage engine bay, Mountain High regulator on both bottles, and EDS computer controlling both bottles.
2 LiPoFe batteries (in cockpit, space for tail battery. Wired, but not currently used.)
Trailer: The Trailer is in excellent condition. Jacks at 4 corners. Has the glide slides for the ramp, which is hydraulic. Stored in a hangar when not in use transporting the glider. Extended front end providing more than adequate storage. Antiskid 50 mm ball connector and 7 pin electrics. 18 and 21 m tips fit in metal clamshell top.
Ground handling/rigging: IMI wing rigger, tail dolly, 2 wing stands, MM tow bar, wing wheel
Miscellaneous: Jonker assembly kit in leather pouch with elliptical alignment tool. Solar canopy cover, front end dust cover, full all weather outdoor covers for 18 m configuration, miscellaneous spare parts.
