1981 Schempp Hirth Ventus B S/N 37.  Licensed Experimental.  Ship is in good condition overall.  The left wing was replaced with a factory new one and the tailboom and right wing repaired in 1982 due to a landing accident.  The repairs were completed and test flown by Alan Bikle in May of 1982. Horizontal stabilizer and elevator refinished by David Nelson in 2012.  Cockpit was refurbished in 2018 and an LX S80 Club vario with profiles and digital inputs options and an LX S3 vario were installed.   An Oudie IGC (not included) is used to supply S80 with GPS information.  An Astro Tech LC-2 quartz chronometer was also added. Panel was covered in carbon fiber-look vinyl and cockpit and seat pan repainted.  New fabric was installed on sidewalls and new interior cushions were purchased.  Radio is a Microair.  New wing seals and mylar installed in 2021.  Gear doors have been modified by a previous owner to cover the tow hook when the gear is retracted.  Wingtips included are the standard factory as well as Masak winglets.  Additionally, rarely seen extensions that increase the span to 17.4m are included.   These likely push the L/D to over 50.  These extensions were installed by prior owner Alan Bikle.  This ship was flown in the 1983 World Gliding Championships at Hobbs, NM by Bert Kuiper of the Netherlands.  Batteries are a Bioenno 15Ah LiFePo4 that tested at 100% in May 2022 and a brand new Duracell 12Ah AGM.  All FAA Airworthiness and Registration documents available for review on Dropbox link.  Condition inspection last completed May 2022.  A glider is only as good as the trailer and this one is nice.  It’s a 1995 Cobra aluminum top in very good condition that was originally built for an AS-W20 CL.  The trailer has optional swing down supports.  This trailer was purchased in 2019 to replace the original Bikle destroyed in a tornado.  Luckily the ship was in a hangar and unaffected.  Smooth Ramp Sliders have been installed.  Currently the trailer does not have storage positions for the Masak winglets or 17.4m extensions.  Ground equipment includes a tail dolly, wingtip wheel, wingstand and tow out bar.  Center rail extension is also included.  High res photos and documents available at:  https://www.dropbox.com/sh/872bg6lsggkz4wn/AAA0vnJ4s2ElS2TrxkqFwqn8a?dl=0 Asking price lowered to $35,000 or reasonable offer.
