SCHEMPP-HIRTH NIMBUS 2, IN ORIGINAL FIBRE-GLASS TRAILER Full History and All Original Documentation Available; This is a brand new glider with only 1143h 32m Not a Scratch, No Out-landings Complete with: Oxygen, Set of Easy Riggers & Parachute HISTORY The glider was bought from the factory in May 1974 by Dr Smet in Antwerp and sold to Mrs Pearson in Hillcrest KZN in South Africa in March 1975 with 100 hours and 60 launches. In July 1975 the tailskid was replaced with a tailwheel by T Torgius. It was flown in the SA nationals in December 1975. H Knoll purchased the glider in 1981 with a total of 642 hours and 191 launches. Hans Binder flew the Nimbus in the SA Nationals in Vryburg in ’84, ’85, ’88 and ’89, winning the open class in 1988. The glider was last flown on the 10 February 1991 before being packed in its trailer and stored in Parys. Total airtime of 986h 15m and 287 launches when Duke bought it in January 1998.
