This is a prototype hydraulically powered, computer controlled two drum gilder winch. we completed over 200 launches with an ASK-21, DG-505 and Grob 103. Average launches were from 1500 to 2000 ft agl. An electrical wiring mistake caused damage to both hydraulic motors, so the winch is not currently operational. It is repairable, but my hydraulic expert moved away and I have no expertise with hydraulics. I have over $150,000 invested in this project.
The engine is a Cummins QSL 8.9 Diesel Tier3/Stage IIIA engine connected by canbus to the computer control system. Two aluminum drums each hold 6-7000 ft of Spectra line. It is mounted to a custom trailer.
