Work life has gotten in the way, and it now appears that I will be outside of the USA for years to come and that sadly means that the chance to finish my HP-24 kit into a flying plane is unlikely.  The kit is partially completed, and needs a visit to one of the great akaflieg sessions that are hosted at the production facilities to progress the kit and achieve some of the activities needed to get the 51%; particularly the control surfaces need to be completed.  The fuselage, wings and tail section are all completed, and have a vinylester in-mold primer coating as part of the preparation (better than gelcoat, in my opinion).  All of the kit parts are at the production facilities in California, and title transfer would be for those parts in their location.  For more information about the kit, I recommend a Google search for ‘HP-24 Kit Sailplane’ for various resources including the website and Facebook page.

The total kit price is $30,000, of which I have made $17,600 in pre-payments.  I will sell my kit rights and pre-payment for $14,000, so a nice little discount for a great sailplane kit.  Bob, the owner of HP Aircraft is well aware of my reluctant decision, and a coordinated sale agreement will be provided to reflect the remaining amount owed to him ($12,400) for the remainder of the kit, just to ensure a clear financial situation for the purchaser.  If you would like any further information, please feel free to contact me.
