Why is this glider for sale? Because I promised my wife to sell my beautiful glider at or before my 85th birthday (March 2023). This will end my fascinating hobby of the past 65 plus years. In 2000 I bought my first new self-launch glider (DG800B) and I was so pleased with it that I replaced it after having flown it for a 1000 hours with the newest model, the DG808C Competition. It was delivered in late 2016 by the DG-factory. It has all the options available when I ordered it (in late 2013). All the equipment has been immaculately maintained. The glider and trailer were always stored in the hangar and I was the only pilot flying it. All the ADs and inspections are up-to-date and the new annual has been performed on February 3rd of 2023. Many additional capabilities have been added to the glider and the trailer over the past six years such as ADSB IN & OUT (FAA-certified), the AHR-option, etc. The glider/trailer is sold with many additional accessories such as an electrically adjustable (remotely controllable) wing rigger and a winch in the trailer to pull in the fuselage. All the additional equipment and the mandatory ADs (fuel line replacement etc.) and the associated inspections have added significantly to the basic cost of the glider package and a detailed financial statement is available. The bottom line is that the receipts for the glider and trailer add up to $ 206K. The import fees, such as customs, transport, registration, and tax were an additional $16K. The supplemental accessories such as ADSB, ADs (and inspections), parachute, wing rigger etc. added up to another $10K which makes the total value of the glider investment $232K. I do not try to squeeze every dollar out of this sale but I would like it to be fair for the buyer and the seller. Therefore, I will offer the entire package for $190K or best offer. Most of all I would like to sell the glider to someone who will appreciate it as much as I have.
