NEW! Big price cut! Our 2015 EB29 is for sale for USD $250,000. It is serial number 35 (N229MP, contest number MP), with total airframe hours of 792, total flights of 189, and engine time of 62 hours. The finish is in excellent condition. It has been hangered or covered daily with Clouddancer covers. It also comes with additional hail-protection covers made by Clouddancer. It has some special enhancements, including wingtip lighting, two independent Mountain High oxygen systems, and 25.3 meter tips in addition to the standard 28.3 meter tips. The engine is a fuel-injected version of the Solo engine, with superior takeoff and high-density-altitude climb performance.
The main navigation/vario system is an LX9000, with stick control. It also has a 57 mm ClearNav vario with a flight recorder and navigation function, a Flarm device, a Trig transponder with ADSB-Out, a Trig radio, an AIR Avionics ACD 57 used as a digital altimeter, and an RC Allen digital attitude indicator. It comes fully equipped with tow out gear, one-man rigging aid, water ballast filling system, tail lifter, two wing wheels, canopy covers (jadixa + reflective cap), wing stands, tiedown equipment, and many spare parts. The trailer is an aluminum COBRA trailer with virtually every available option, including insulation and side storage boxes.
This glider has been used for record flying in the Great Basin, mainly flying out of Ely, NV. Thirteen records have been attained in it, including a 300 km triangle at 178.35 kph (110.82 mph); a 500 km triangle at 167.84 kph (104.29 mph); a 750 km triangle at 171.74 kph (106.71 mph); and a 1000 km triangle at 152.72 kph (94.90 mph). These record flights, along with numerous pictures of the glider, are described in four articles in Soaring Magazine, available in pdf form by request (write to Mitch Polinsky at [email protected]).
With the 25.3 meter tips it can achieve maximum wingloading of 58.5 kg/m2 or 12.0 lbs/sqft, with a glide ratio of 63/1. With the 28.3 meter tips it can achieve a low minimum wingloading of 41.0 kg/m2, 8.4 lbs/sqft, with a glide ratio of 66/1. This flexibility makes it an excellent plane for both strong and weak conditions.
We have both found the plane remarkably comfortable to fly, with no adverse flight characteristics. Assembly is straightforward and can be accomplished by one person with the included rigging equipment. The plane’s exceptional performance can best be described by “If you can see it, you can glide to it!”
The glider comes with an annual inspection from Schaefer Aviation at Williams CA, October 2023.
