SGS 1-23G model. One of 8 built, this one in 1958, with 52.8 foot span and 31:1 glide ratio. Helping with an estate sale for the daughter of a Northern California Soaring Association member who passed away. Glider is located at Byron Airport (C83) and has been sitting in its trailer for over a decade waiting for someone to put it back in the air. Condition is good for age and the time it has been sitting. Appears complete and undamaged although we have not found logbooks or some small parts like the wing attach pins (we are continuing to look as we go through the estate). To the best of our knowledge it was trailered after its last flight and had the instrument panel removed for long-term indoor storage (which we have, see photo). Both regular and sports canopies - dirty but not cracked. Sold as-is, where-is. Trailer is not judged to be roadworthy although could be loaded on a flatbed to mover the glider safely. Better option would be to pick it up with a Schweizer trailer (we believe it would fit on the 1-26 trailer our club had) and dispose of the old trailer (buyer's responsibility). We can coordinate an inspection at Byron Airport for perspective buyers. Additional photos can be provided on request. We pulled the fuselage out for photos but wings were not removed from trailer at that time.
