Rolladen-Schneider LS-8

Nice flying glider. Competitive in Sports, Club and Standard Class. Bought this glider in January 2017. Paid $55000. I bought the glider to fly competition. Over the last 5 years I have flown this glider in about 6 regional and National comps. I have been racing gliders since I was 18 years old. I am now 81 years old. Climbs like a homesick angel. The quality of construction and the design is the best I have encountered in over sixty years of gliding. I have owned or rented for competition over 15 different gliders over the years. The LS 8a is an excellant design and is well built. It is easy to rig and the controls hook up automatically. The LS 8a sailplane was reviewed in the July 1998 issue of "Soaring". The article indicated a max lift to drag ratio of 42 and calculated a L/D of 27 at 105 kts with full water ballast. According to Ai, LS 8a won the world championship in Sweden in 2006. In the Standard class the LS 8a's won the European standard class championship in 2002, 2004, 2005, and 2007 and is considered the best all round standard class glider. I am not interested in doing all the paperwork necessary to export the glider. I want to sell the glider to a USA citizen and have it and the trailer registered to that citizen in the USA. This is a glider that could easily place first in Club or Standard Class Nationals.
