Bolkow Phoebus A model. Flown regularly from August, 2014 through August, 2018. Moved from VA to CA and have not been able to get in the soaring as I had in Virginia. Last annual expired April, 2019, all AD’s in compliance. One AD (75-18-01) requires periodic visual inspection, next inspection due @575 hours (~516 hours on glider). Minimum pilot weight is 170#.
Base white PU paint with pearlescent additive (previous owner described as ‘think Lexus, not bass boat’), brown and gold striping down fuselage to tail. Aircraft is in good condition exterior/interior with a rosewood veneer panel. Panel contains an OAT temp gauge, vario speaker, power switch, altimeter, Borgelt B40 vario, Dittel FSG 71 radio with 10 presets, Winter ASI, wet compass and battery voltage display. Cabin has mounted boom mic, rear mounted radio speaker, with PTT on stick, and ball mount for RAM type device. Kobo e-ink 4” tablet with XCSoar, top of cockpit mount GPS receiver, and FlywithCE flight recorder included. 4 point harness/rotary buckle installed 2006. Tow is Tost, mounted CoG, overhauled March, 1999.
Trailer is VA registered with VIN, tires replaced December, 2018. Has ample front storage for gear, including spare tire, wing dolly, tool bucket, tail dolly. Trailer has tilt bed with rotating back supports and rear fold down ramp door. Back supports also provide very stable platform for outdoor tiedown. Travels well, total weight ~2,600#.
Ground handling damage to sparbox, repaird by SouthTech Aviation, NC - found prior repair and fixed that as well.
