PZL Bielsko SZD 48-1 Jantar Standard 2

I am offering my 1981 Jantar Standard SZD48-2 for sale. It is a high performance glider with a glide ratio of 40:1 and a minimum sink of 118 FPM @ 40 KIAS. It is a great next step into the world off cross country gliding and has many qualities that will set it apart.  I recently rebuilt the panel and added a LXNAV S-8 Club vario which ties into an Oudie (not included) or other flight computer, it has a MicroAir 760 panel mounted radio with boom microphone and a dual USB charger for your other devices. It has a BIOENNO battery that will operate the equipment for several days without having to be re-charged. I added a ram mount to the center of the panel so the flight computer is out of the way and in easy view at all times. I rebuilt the canopy support system and added a gas strut and extra support to the rear canopy hinge that allows it to open and close with one finger. An advantage to the Jantar series of gliders is that they have a 500x5 tire, which is larger than most single seat gliders and allows the glider to sit very high off the ground, which helps with takeoff/landing and possible land outs. It also has an upgrade to hydraulic brakes, so it can be stopped quickly if needed. The glider flies well, is easy to fly, is very responsive and is an easy transition from a Grob or other single seat glider. 

The trailer is all metal and in very good condition and is easy to tow behind almost any car or any other vehicle with a towing capacity of 1200#. It includes a solo rigger, tow out gear, wing stands and a new canopy cover.
