The Cyclo Orbital Polisher has been polishing planes, automobiles, and RVs
since 1953, when they received patents on their orbital polishing
mechanisms. That same year, the company received approval from the US
government to polish the military’s aircraft and missiles. The Cyclo
Polisher is still used today to polish the Air Force One fleet. With a
resume like that, we just had to see what the Cyclo is all about. The Cyclo
Polisher
is the only dual-head polisher on the market. Both heads move in an orbital
motion, counter-clockwise. The idea is to simulate hand polishing but at a
much faster rate. Going over a scratch or swirl with both heads ensures that
you are attacking it from all sides, so to speak. No matter what angle you
look at the paint, you will not see the former blemish. It’s the fool-proof
polisher!
TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE
The synchronized movement of the Cyclo Polisher’s dual orbiting heads most
effectively mirrors the overlapping circular motion of fine hand polishing.
The result is a perfectly balanced machine that produces less vibration and
a mirror-like finish without swirl marks or risk of damage to paint.

Nanotechnology Improves Performance

Gel Coat and the Sun
Gel coat finishes are subject to chemical processes driven by exposure to
ultraviolet solar radiation ,this incudes photo-initiation and
photo-oxidation. The process of photo-initiation causes chemical changes in
a micro-thin surface layer of gel coat while photo-oxidation degrades
surface molecules.Sunlight and reactive atmospheric compounds will yellow
and embrittle gel coat over the length of exposure. While traditional hard
wax or consumer type waxes will polish gel coat, their UV protection is
limited. Wx/Block’s solution is to provide active UV protection on the
surface for an extended period of time.

USER COMMENTS:
Not meaning this as advertisement but I want you to know what we have
observed
on a refinished LS-3A. One expects UV to attack the upper surfaces of a
glider. Normally, the upper surfaces tend to fade and "yellow" more than
lower
surfaces. The owner of this LS-3 used "weather block" on the upper surfaces
only and we can see...with no doubt, that the upper surfaces are in better
condition after about 5 years. The lower (un treated) surfaces are now an
"off-white" (or yellowed slightly) while the treated upper surface is a nice
"blue-white" . You can come to any conclusion you want...but this Weather
Block" stuff does make a difference in protecting a fiberglass Gel-Coated

Hard Bar (Wax?)
You may hear a lot about "Hard Waxing"
but what most don't know is that hard bar was is really not intended as a
wax at all, hard bars do contain a wax as a base but these are really
polishing compounds, the wax used is there to contain the fine abrasives
used for polishing, much the same as "Jeweler's rouge"
. Applied with a machine only, on sailplanes a special edge buffer is used
and it is still a favorite method by many repair shops. Machine polishing
hard bars do provide excellent polishing, and provide a high
shine since the surface is highly polished to a super smooth finish. Hard
Bars however provide little real moisture protection and will offer
virtually nothing in the way of UV protection. Each Bar should be enough for
complete polishing of one or two gliders when properly applied. The special
edge type buffer is required for proper application of all hard bar waxes.
Hard Bar Finishing should always be followed up with a minimum of a good wax
for moisture protection and for the best UV and moisture protection with a
product like or at best, the Wx/Seal and Wx/Block products.

2L Pre-Polish Compound (#1) is for initial compounding, where you remove
the scratches left by wet or dry sandpapers (it will remove 800 grit
scratches on up). This is followed by 16 Fine Polishing Compound (#2). This
will leave a mirror surface. All products can be applied by hand with a soft
cloth or buffer, after the initial flattening and leveling of the finish is
done with sandpaper. The finish should be sanded to at least 800 grit before
applying the 2L.

I don't offer
this since it is flammable and could be classified as "hazardous" for
shipping (extra cost to you) you can almost always find it locally at most
auto parts stores, hardware stores and paint suppliers for about ten bucks a
quart. Some companies offer their own "brand" like NAPA Auto Suppliers. This
is the BEST adhesive cleaner I have ever used for removing old tapes, tape
residue and is completely safe for almost any painted or gel-coated finish.
Buy it locally.. always keep some on hand!

Micro-Mesh® is what we like to call a non-abrasive abrasive. It is
considered a cushioned abrasive in fact.
Conventional sandpaper is designed to be aggressive so that it will dig
deeply. In its manufacture the crystals are electrically charged so that
they will stand up. They are locked into a hard resin and when you apply
the paper to a surface it will literally tear in and remove the
substrate of the material you are sanding. The crystals cut in a
negative raking motion, leaving inconsistent scratch patterns.
Micro-Mesh® does the opposite. The backing is long lasting cloth to
which an ultra-flexible cushioning layer is applied. This cushioning
layer will determine how far forward you can push crystals before they
will penetrate the cushioning layer. On top of this layer, we have a
very resilient glue, not a hard resin, but a completely flexible glue
that will hold the crystals while allowing it to move and rotate. The
crystals can turn in any direction without coming loose. When you start
to apply pressure to sand with Micro-Mesh®, the crystals will go into
the cushioning layer while beginning to cut a bit. If you push harder,
they will go further into the cushioning layer, which serves as a safety
valve. It determines how much pressure you can exert in a doward
direction. Instead of a deep scratch that sandpaper makes, Micro-Mesh®
produce a refined scratch that is close to a RMS of 1.0. The cushioning
layer also allows the crystals to cut with a planing motion that leaves
an extremely consistent scratch pattern and allows you to achieve
extraordinary levels of gloss.
Where conventional abrasives will take surfaces down 2 or 3 thousandths
(.002 or .003), Micro-Mesh® will take it down one ten thousandth (.0001)
or less.

Existing cleaners are often messy to use (especially creams and pastes)
