Sandia STX 165 Panel Mount Transponder

General Description

The STX165 is the perfect companion transponder for your ADS–B UAT installation. The STX165 interfaces with most popular UAT systems and sends the transponder squawk code directly from the STX 165 to your UAT transceiver. This single point of entry eliminates the need to enter the squawk code twice and any possible resulting code setting errors. With a UAT Out solution the FAA recommends using a Mode C transponder over a Mode S, to eliminate multiple ADS–B position reporting.

The STX 165’s solid state transmitter design provides 200 Watts nominal output with no warm up time. Because it’s all solid state, power requirements are at an absolute minimum. And with it’s built–in encoder, installation time and cost is greatly reduced. The STX 165 is simply the best choice for a UAT companion transponder.

Features

• Built–in Encoder – Simplifies installations and lowers cost

• Optional OAT Probe Input –Displays Outside Air Temp.,Density Altitude, Icing Alert
• Small and Light Weight – 7.4″ behind the panel depth, 1.3 lbs.
• Low Current Requirements – Ideal for LSA – Glider – UAV Operations
• ADS–B Compatible

Is the STX 165 ADS–B Compatible?

Sandia STX165 Mode C TRANSPONDER with a UAT / WAAS GPS will meet the 2020 ADS–B mandate when interface with a compatible UAT transceiver. The STX currently interface with the L3 and NAVWORX to provide an affordable ADS–B compliant solution. When installing ADS–B the FAA recommends against installing both 1090 ES (Mode S) and UAT as they can conflict with each other and transmit your aircraft position twice.
